Water, Short Story Day Africa‘s 2015 anthology, was edited by PEN SA members Nick Mulgrew and Karina Szczurek and includes stories by PEN SA members Christine Coates, Louis Greenberg and Mark Winkler. Nick Mulgrew and Karina Szczurek will be discussing the book at the launch, along with some of the contributors, including Mark Winkler and Christine Coates.

This is the first of the Poetry at Play monthly workshops, which will culminate in the publishing of a poetry anthology toward the end of 2016. Each month they will be working and writing on a different theme and will be unearthing poetry that fits into these themes. The workshops will be hosted by Winslow Schalkwyk.

This is the second year of the Blown Away by Books Festival, which coincides with National Library Week each year and involves events at the libraries of Fish Hoek, Masiphumelele, Simon’s Town, Kommetjie and Ocean View. PEN SA members Bridget Pitt, Colleen Higgs, Christine Coates, Claire Robertson, Diane Awerbuck, Jacqui L’Ange, Mark Gevisser, Mike Nicol, Michèle Rowe, Rahla Xenopoulos and SA Partridge will be taking part in the festival.
