  • Open Book Festival 2017

  • CocreatePoetica at Open Book Festival

    #cocreateSA and Poetica have collaborated to put together workshops, discussions, readings and performances of rap, poetry and spoken word.   • Dawn Garisch’s play Trespass showing at 228 on Lower Main Theatre

    PEN SA member Dawn Garisch has adapted her novel Trespass, which was shortlisted for the 2010 Commonwealth prize in Africa, into a play. Directed by Chris Weare and featuring Belinda Koning, the play will be showing at the 228 on Lower Main Theatre in Observatory. The novel Trespass will be available for purchasing at the showings.   • Literature Exchange
    Where: Welkom Library, Free State

    PEN SA member Ntshala Mahase has organised a Literature Exchange focused on the promotion and preservation of indigenous languages, which is being presented by Activate Change Drivers in partnership with Nal’ibali. The event will feature a panel discussion with Trevor Mokeyane (Publisher at OmoOle Books), Fezile Sonkwala (Author), Grace Thoso (Author), Dr Mathene Mahanke (Director of Language Services at Free State Department of Arts and Culture) and Ace Moloi (Author).
