PEN SA at Open Book 2017

We are pleased to announce that PEN South Africa will be presenting two events at this year’s Open Book Festival, which is being held from 6 – 10 September. • Women’s Manifesto
  Where: Homecoming Centre Workshop, Cape Town
  When: Wednesday 6 September 2017, 10 AM
  Cost: Free
  PEN SA President Nadia Davids is joined by Board Member Gabeba Baderoon, Buhle Ngaba and Sindiswa Busuku-Mathese as they reflect on how the Women’s Manifesto – a document that insists on the connection between freedom and writing – speaks to their own experience as women writers.

  Paul Beatty speaks about his Man Booker prize-winning novel The Sellout with Harry Garuba.
