  • Launch of South by Frank Owen
    Where: Kalk Bay Books, Cape Town

    Frank Owen is the pen name of PEN SA member Diane Awerbuck and Alex Latimer. They will be launching their novel, South, in conversation with PEN SA member Claire Robertson.
  • Mike van Graan’s Pay Back the Curry! at the Baxter Theatre
    Where: Baxter Theatre, Cape Town
    When: Monday 15 to Saturday 27 August 2016

    PEN SA Board Member Mike van Graan’s satirical revue Pay back the Curry! is on at the Baxter Theatre. Pay back the Curry! will take place nightly at 7:30 PM from Monday to Saturday, with a show at 5 PM on Saturdays too (do note that the 5 PM show on Saturday 20 August is sold out). Tickets are R100 each.

  • Launch of Short.Sharp.Stories anthology Die Laughing

    The Short.Sharp.Stories Award will be launching its latest anthology, Die Laughing, curated by PEN SA member Joanne Hichens. PEN SA members Ken Barris and Karina Szczurek were part of this year’s judging panel. Five PEN SA members are on this year’s shortlist.

    Frank Owen is the pen name of PEN SA member Diane Awerbuck and Alex Latimer. They will be launching their novel, South, in conversation with Greg Lazarus (Greg Fried and Lisa Lazarus).

    PEN SA board members Justin Fox and Adré Marshall will be speaking at the Festival, as will former board member Geoff Haresnape.
