Press release:

THIRD YEAR OF THE ‘THREE-SCORE-AND-TEN’ POETRY COMPETITION

The St James Retirement Hotel organisers of the annual ‘Three Score and Ten’ poetry competition for the over seventies are calling for entries for 2016. Finuala Dowling, internationally acclaimed author and False Bay residents who will be judging the competition for the third year running, says that the standard of poetry entered into the competition was extremely high last year, and she is looking forward to seeing the entries this year.

If you are over seventy years of age and a keen writer of poetry, The St James would love to hear from you. Simply write or type up your poem, making sure to include your name, age and contact details and email to reception@thestjames.co.za, post or drop it off at The St James, 66 Main Road, St James 7945. Only three entries are permitted per entrant.

The deadline for submission of entries is 28 October and the winners will be announced on 17 November. There are some lovely prizes to be won and the winning entry will be published in the False Bay Echo.
