- Moses Tladi UNEARTHED exhibition

This exhibition of Moses Tladi’s work is based on PEN SA member Angela Read Lloyd’s 2009 book, The Artist in the Garden, The Quest for Moses Tladi. PEN SA member Finuala Dowling will be chairing a discussion around Stephen Watson’s compelling book, A Writer’s Diary, which has now been republished by Electric Book Works. Stephen Watson (6 November 1954 – 10 April 2011) was a distinguished and influential South African poet, essayist, academic and creative writing teacher. - Celebration of Songs and Secrets by Barry Gilder

PEN SA Executive Vice-President Mandla Langa will be joining Barry Gilder for a celebration of Barry’s book Songs and Secrets and will be sharing stories from the struggle for freedom. Following the discussion, Barry will perform some of his old songs with Fraser McNeill and Danielle Bowler.

Where: University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban
When: Monday 12 October to Saturday 17 October 2015
Spoken word and storytelling will be celebrated by 24 poets at the annual festival. Hosted by the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Centre for Creative Arts, Poetry Africa provides a space for intercultural exchange and dialogue by hosting an extensive community outreach programme with poetry readings, performances and workshops in community centres, campuses and also participate in a programme of visits to schools across Durban to share ideas about poetry.
