High Schoolers Can Submit to the 2018 Giving Them Wings Short Story Contest

The Giving Them Wings Foundation is, per their website, “an NPC that partners with schools for the enrichment of all young children, particularly those in disadvantaged communities. We aim to provide curricula and extra-curricular support to learners and educators alike.”
South African high schools across are invited to submit short stories of no longer than 1500 words written by their learners in English to the 2018 Giving Them Wings Short Story Contest.
Only 1 entry per student will be accepted. Schools can enter as many students as they wish. Schools must first register with the Giving Them Wings Foundation before 26 March 2018. The contest will be Judged by Paul Wessels, co-founder of Deep South Publishing with Robert Berold and co-ordinator of the Masters in Creative Writing Course at Rhodes University.
There are cash prizes for the runners-up, and a computer for the winner. The school of the winning learner will win R15 000. The 30 best stories will be published in an anthology to be available in 2019.
