Applications Open for Africa Centre’s Artists In Residency (AIR) Programme
23 Oct 2017

Deadlines: 1 December 2017 for the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center residency and
16 December 2017 for the other residencies
Africa Centre is currently accepting applications for its 2017 Artist In Residency (AIR) Programmes. The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center residency in Italy is for mid – late career artists and PEN SA members Lauren Beukes and Mark Gevisser were selected for the residency in previous years.
Emerging – mid career artists can apply for residency opportunities at Bundanon Trust in Australia, Instituto Sacatar in Brazil, Jiwar in Spain, Fountainhead Residency in Miami, or the International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York.
Africa Centre is now accepting applications for its 2017 Artist In Residency (AIR) Programmes. We are offering residencies in Australia, Brazil, Spain, Italy and the United States. We are seeking high calibre African artists, in different stages of their development (from emerging to late career), who are provocative, innovative, and stretching the boundaries of their artistic practice.
The residencies are available to composers, writers, video/filmmakers, curators, visual and performance artists as well as other forms, whose work is inspired by or relates to the challenges facing humanity.
