Africa Centre’s Artists In Residency Programme Opens for 2018 Applications

Applications are now open for the Africa Centre’s 2018 Artists In Residency Programme. For the last seven years, AIR has successfully awarded 69 African artists, among them Mona Eltahawy, Victor Ehikhamenor, Njabulo Ndebele & Aida Muluneh, with residency opportunities around the world. Last year, PEN SA Board Member Sisonke Msimang was chosen for a Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center residency.

On offer this year are artist residencies at Bundanon Trust in Australia, Instituto Sacatar in Brazil, Fountainhead Residency &International Studio & Curatorial Program in the USA. Residencies at these spaces are available to early and mid-career African artists who predominantly live and work on the continent.

We are also accepting applications from mid-late career, highly accomplished artists for residencies at the prestigious Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center located on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.
