Press release:

Second Annual Poetry Competition for the Over Seventies

Following the success of the 2014 “Three Score and Ten” poetry competition, sponsor, The St James has decided to make this an annual event and is calling for entries. Over 100 entries were received last year.

“Selecting the ten finalists and winning poem was extremely difficult given the extremely high standard of entries submitted” says Finuala Dowling, local resident and international author who judges the competition.

The top ten entrants will be invited to join The St James’ residents for afternoon tea and snacks on the 3rd December and the winning entry will be published in The False Bay Echo on 10 December 2015.

Entries for this years’ competition close on 10 November and can be emailed to: reception@thestjames.co.za, posted to or dropped off at The St James, 66 Main Road, St James 7850. Entries must include the writer’s name, age, telephone number and email or postal address.
