Zoo City’s polarized society is cleverly designed and combines seamlessly with true and false. Beukes urban playground is the drug, and pintaliitoa utilizing the decay setting, which comes to work in an exceptional way to life. Intriguing, different mythologies combines the spirit of the animal-idea permeates the entire novel, and carries with it the deeper atonement, penance and adaptation themes. At the same time the book draws attention to a number of serious topics, such as social problems and fragile, conflict-ridden societies
