- A reading by Nick Mulgrew

PEN SA member Nick Mulgrew will be giving a reading from his Edge Hill Award-nominated debut Stations, and a new story from his forthcoming collection The First Law of Sadness.
- A crash course in writing and getting published

Melinda Ferguson, author, journalist and publisher of imprint MFBOOKSJOBURG, will present a crash course in writing and getting published.
- Gail Schimmel speaking at Friends of Modderfontein Library’s coffee morning

PEN SA member Gail Schimmel will be discussing her book The Park at the Friends of Modderfontein Library’s coffee morning. Refreshments will be served before the talk and The Park will be available for purchase.
- Siphiwo Mahala’s play The House of Truth showing at Soweto Theatre
Where: Soweto Theatre, Jabulani, Soweto
When: Wednesday 10 to Sunday 21 May 2017
PEN SA member Siphiwo Mahala’s play The House of Truth, which is about South African writer Can Themba, will be showing at Soweto Theatre this month. The play is directed by Vanessa Cooke and performed by Sello Maake ka Ncube.
- Launch of Free Association by Steven Boykey Sidley

- The Kingsmead Book Fair

- Literary Crossroads with Imraan Coovadia and Abubakar Adam Ibrahim
