  • Jalada Mobile Literary & Arts Festival
    Where: The Festival will cover 12 cities/towns in five countries across East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, DRC, Rwanda, and Tanzania)

    The Festival will showcase new art to new audiences, celebrate cultural diversity through multi-lingual performances and exhibitions, revitalize cross-cultural interchanges between Africa and the world, and interrogate the place of African languages and translation in the 21st century.

  • 20th Time of the Writer International Festival
    Where: Workshops will be held in schools, community arts centres, tertiary institutions and prisons in Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The evening programme will be at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, Howard College Campus (UKZN).
    When: Monday 13 March to Saturday 18 March 2017
    PEN SA members Zakes Mda, Fred Khumalo, Bronwyn Law-Viljoen, Unathi Magubeni and Lidudumalingani Mqombothi will feature in this year’s Time of the Writer International Festival. This year’s edition will include a variety of roundtable discussions, readings, seminars, book launches, and developmental programmes such as workshops, master classes and motivational talks.
