LITERARY FESTIVALS
2019 Eastern Cape Literature Festival
Where: Amazwi South African Museum of Literature, 25a Worcester St, Grahamstown, 6139
When: Wednesday 3 July 2019 – Sunday 7 July 2019
About: Lit-Fest 2019 will emphasise South Africa’s own indigenous languages, with isiXhosa, Sesotho, sign language and Khoisan languages receiving special focus. Some of the highlights of Lit-Fest 2019 include writing workshops, poetry readings, storytelling, literary discussions and book reviews by some of South Africa’s most respected literary icons.

Off the Wall, weekly poetry readings
Where: The Booke Shoppe Tokai, Shops 14 & 15, Tokai Junction, Corner of Main and Tokai roads
When: Most Monday nights, 7:30 PM
About: Off the Wall poetry invites established poets to give readings every Thursday night, followed by an open-mix session. The open-mic session is for anyone, from first-timers to veterans, to perform their own poetry or that of other poets.
