Ameera Patel Wins Best Supporting Actress at the Naledi Theatre Awards

Congratulations to PEN SA member Ameera Patel who won Best Supporting Actress at the 13th annual Naledi Theatre Awards for the play Scorched. Patel is also the author of the novel Outside the Lines.

The 2016 Standard Bank Young Artist for Theatre production Scorched took home two other awards, one for Best Director and the other for Best Actress.

Another PEN SA member and a former Board Member whose play walked away with an award on the night is Mike Van Graan. Pay Back the Curry, a play that Van Graan wrote led to its performer, comedian Daniel Richards, winning Best Newcomer Award.
